It's not often you see The New York Times praising The Washington Post.
The two have done fierce battle in the past, particularly when it comes to covering D.C. politics.
But this morning, Times media columnist David Carr, among the most well-known media reporters, heaped on the praise of the Post and editor Martin Baron.
Among his tributes:
The once-embattled newspaper is in the middle of a great run, turning
out the kind of reporting that journalists — and readers — live for.
That includes coverage that played a role in the resignation of the
director of the Secret Service and investigative work that eventually
led to the conviction of a former governor of Virginia on corruption
charges.
